Guard and Grace Expands to Charlotte, Third Location for Denver Steakhouse

TAG Restaurant Group is opening Guard and Grace, its award-winning modern steakhouse, in Charlotte on Oct. 1. The location represents the brand's third restaurant and first entry into the Carolinas, extending the reach of the 12-year-old concept founded by Chef Troy Guard beyond its established Denver and Houston markets.

The 10,224-square-foot space occupies the 10th floor of the Vivian at Queensbridge Collective, at 111 E. Carson Blvd., Suite 100, positioned between Charlotte's South End and Uptown districts. The restaurant includes a full-service bar, multiple private dining rooms, an expansive raw bar, oak-fired steaks, and a 2,000-square-foot outdoor terrace with skyline views. The project represents a partnership with developer Riverside Investment and Development.

The menu reflects regional sourcing, featuring Creekstone beef alongside North Carolina oysters and swordfish, along with a country ham tasting. Guard and Grace has built its reputation on the modern steakhouse model, operating under the broader TAG Restaurant Group umbrella.

The Charlotte opening signals TAG Restaurant Group's confidence in markets beyond its core Colorado and Texas presence. Steakhouse expansion into secondary markets has accelerated as operators seek to capitalize on high-revenue potential outside major metropolitan centers. The South End and Uptown positioning places the restaurant in one of Charlotte's most active dining and development corridors.

With three locations now operational, Guard and Grace joins a competitive segment of regional steakhouse chains seeking to establish national or multi-regional presence. The Charlotte market has absorbed several high-end restaurant concepts in recent years as the city's commercial real estate and consumer spending have grown.
